Kenzie FUKUDA d.
Character Portrait, Environmental Background and Concept Artist
Hi! Hi!
I am a freelance character concept illustrator in Marysville WA that mainly specializes in creating female characters and monster-like creatures in a Japanese cartoon-anime style. My imagination broadens to digital painting-like environments where my characters and maybe yours can roam free.

My goal is to help game designers and other people in their quest for the perfect character designs for their projects.

What software/materials do you use?
What inspired you to draw what you draw today?
Anything that I feel like. If I want to doodle something goofy, I will do so. I also love creating cute, cool, cruel and memorably unique characters and colourful enviorments with a simple yet eye catching vibe.
I find inspiration from many artists, but mostly game illustrations like Pokemon, Yo-kai Watch, Mega Man, mostly the black outlines, colorful characteristics that you would mostly see in cartoons (mostly shonen manga and anime style for example).
Digitally, I use Wacom Intuos and Clip Art Studio is the primary software that I use despite being on the expensive side. (I found some with great prices so no worries!) Alternatives I recommend are Adobe Photoshop, Kitra, and Photopea if you want to save money and feature the same tools as Photoshop.

Physically, I enjoy pencil drawing. Did you know, that before I do any digital drawings, I first do pencil drawing? It's much easier for me this way. Other traditional arts I do are charcoal, oil pastel, and ink drawing.
What are your favorite things to draw?
How do you draw characters?
I start with pencil art and later ink. Later I scan it on my Mac and digital draw it, adding mode details and other sprinkable effects that pencil drawing can't.

What types of payments do you accept?
I don't have a price for it since places like Indeed, Zip Recruiter and LinkedIn for example all have prices on their sites. If you have a price for a character you want me to draw for a game or a book illustration, let me know!
As of now, I use Paypal (preferably this one) and recently Venmo. Visa (both credit and debit) is fine too.
How long does a commission take?
What's the price for commissioning a character for a video game or book?
Depends on what the commission is. The higher quality the piece is, the more it will take. A full body shaded and colored piece will take a day or more.
